Teen Therapy in Ohio

Counseling for ages 13 to 17, in person at six locations across southern Ohio. Parents can call, and so can teens.

What teen therapy is, and who it's for

Teen therapy is counseling with someone who talks with teenagers rather than at them. Some teens come in over school, anxiety, or anger. Some come in over a family change, a loss, bullying, or a sense of self-worth that has taken a beating.

Parents usually make the first call, and that is fine. What happens after that is a working relationship between your teen and their counselor, with you kept in the loop on the things that matter.

What to expect

  • A short screening form or phone call. A parent or guardian can start it.
  • A callback from a real person, usually within one business day.
  • A first appointment for getting to know your teen, not for handing out a label.
  • Sessions scheduled around school where we can manage it.
  • A clear conversation about what stays between your teen and their counselor, and what does not.

Not sure it's therapy they need? Call anyway.

Before you call

Can my teen start without a referral?
Yes. A screening form or a phone call is enough.
Will I be told what my teen says?
Your counselor will explain at the first appointment what is shared with you and what is kept private. Anything involving your teen’s safety is always shared.
What if my teen doesn't want to come?
Common. The first appointment is low-pressure, and the counselors here are used to starting with a teen who would rather be anywhere else.
Can appointments work around school?
We schedule around school hours where we can. Tell us your teen’s schedule when we call you back.
Does Medicaid cover it?
Yes, we accept Medicaid. Have the card handy when you call and we will check coverage before the first appointment.

Ready when you are.

Fill out the screening form or call. No referral needed, and a parent or a teen can start it.
